SHERIDAN, Wyo. (AP) — A 42-year-old Sheridan man has pleaded not guilty to a second-degree murder charge in the shooting death of his wife.
The Sheridan Press reports (http://bit.ly/2docZuW ) that Christopher Fisher entered the plea Tuesday in District Court.
He faces a prison term of 20 years to life in prison if convicted.
Fisher's jury trial is scheduled for March 20.
Authorities accuse Fisher in the fatal shooting death of his wife, Martha Bailey, last August.
Fisher has said that Bailey had attacked him and the two struggled over a pistol pulled from Fisher's pants pocket. He says the gun went off during the struggle.
Fisher and Bailey have five children, including a 9-year-old who witnessed the shooting.
