BUHL, Idaho (AP) — A south-central Idaho man police say head-butted a police officer has been charged with felony battery on a police officer.

The Times-News reports (http://bit.ly/1khnsSe) that 48-year-old Patrick E. Leets of Buhl was also charged Monday in Twin Falls County Magistrate Court with misdemeanor battery and resisting or obstructing police.

Authorities say that police officers responded on Feb. 22 to apartments following a report by a woman that a man was possibly trying to harm her.

A woman told police that she and her mother had been drinking with Leets when he became angry and struck the mother.

Police say that while in police custody, Leets snapped his head back and struck an officer in the face.

Leets is next scheduled to appear in court on March 10.
