Ralph Ford chosen as next chancellor of Penn State Behrend

ERIE, Pa. (AP) — Ralph Ford has been name chancellor of Penn State Behrend near Erie.

The 50-year-old administrator has been interim chancellor since July 1, replacing Donald Birx.

Ford has worked at the satellite campus in northwestern Pennsylvania for more than 20 years.

He formerly directed Behrend's School of Engineering and had been associate dean for industry and external relations.

Ford worked for IBM and Brookhaven National Laboratory as an engineer and researcher before joining the Penn State Behrend faculty in 1994.
