LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a murder suspect whose refusal to get out of a stolen car for almost two hours prompted a precautionary evacuation of several southwest Las Vegas businesses.
The name of the man arrested a little before 2 p.m. Monday and details of the slaying for which he was sought weren't immediately made public.
Officer Laura Meltzer says the man in his 20s was stopped driving a sedan about noon at Decatur Boulevard and Cactus Avenue.
Meltzer says it wasn't clear if the man was armed, but he threatened to harm himself or police if officers approached.
