LANCASTER, N.Y. (AP) — The pilot of a small plane was forced to make an emergency landing after experiencing engine trouble upon take-off from an upstate New York airport.
Police say the pilot landed safely about 300 yards from the end of the runway shortly after taking off from the Lancaster airport outside Buffalo around 3:15 p.m. Wednesday.
The pilot, whose name wasn't released, was the only person on board and wasn't hurt.
The plane sustained minor damage.
