BOSTON (AP) — Thousands of education professionals are expected in Boston this weekend for the International Literacy Association's 2016 conference.
Participants will explore ways that new technologies, innovations and techniques can transform lives through literacy. Collaborative sessions will be held to consider the latest literacy topics, including teacher preparation, professional development, coaching and literacy leadership.
Researchers and practitioners will also present techniques and resources for the classroom. Acclaimed authors will share their work and practical ideas for incorporating texts into the curriculum.
Keynote speakers will include best-selling author Laurie Halse Anderson and Microsoft's Worldwide Education Strategy Director Steven Duggan.
