CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming lawmakers will be fine tuning the school funding model and studying 11 education topics over the summer months.
The Joint Education Interim Committee will study ways to elevate the stature of the University of Wyoming's College of Education, a goal that was set by UW trustees in 2012.
The panel also will look at ways to improve career and college readiness for students upon high school graduation.
Lawmakers will continue to assess school safety and security around the state, as well as study early childhood education programs.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/19LXYfK ) that reviews of the school reform law and the Hathaway Scholarship Program are planned.
In addition, they will also be taking a look at the equity of recreational mill levies between communities.
