JERSEY CITY, N.J. (AP) — Jersey City school officials are probing whether there's been a data breach involving students' personal information.
School Superintendent Marcia Lyles met with parents Thursday night to discuss the investigation into whether a charter school obtained the information and used it to contact prospective students.
The parents told The Jersey Journal (http://bit.ly/1kSI8Tg ) Lyles said the METS Charter School obtained students' names, addresses, phone numbers, birthdays and possibly Social Security numbers.
The parents say the superintendent said investigators discovered that they were able to access student information from outside computers.
