BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Sen. Les Bock of Boise will run for a judicial seat in southwestern Idaho in May.
Bock, a Democrat, says he'll file Monday for the 4th District Court seat held by Judge Michael Wetherell, who is retiring.
Bock served four terms, one as representative and three as a senator.
He was a finalist for two judgeships, the first in 2013 to fill a new post created by the Legislature and the second to replace retiring Judge Ron Wilper.
Both times, Gov. C.L. "Butch" Otter passed Bock over, the latest instance Friday when Boise lawyer Jason Scott won Wilper's job.
Bock has been a lawyer since graduating from the University of California Hastings College of Law in 1979 and says he wants to bring his civil law experience to the bench.
