SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The American Civil Liberties Union of Utah says it's settled a lawsuit with the Salt Lake County jail over a Weber State University student who was held after posting bail while authorities checked his immigration status. ACLU officials say the county has agreed to end its procedure of delaying releases for 48 hours when they suspect an inmate is in the country illegally.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — A Provo doctor convicted of killing his wife is set to be sentenced in a separate case today after a jury convicted him of sexually abusing his adult daughter. Martin MacNeill faces up to 15 years in prison. The Associated Press doesn't normally identify alleged victims of sexual crimes but the adult daughter asked to be identified in this case.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A federal judge in Salt Lake City has ordered the FBI to investigate allegations one of its agents pressured a witness not to testify in a trial about videos related to the Oklahoma City bombing. Attorney Jesse Trentadue claims the FBI urged a former government operative not to testify, a claim the agency calls baseless.

PHOENIX (AP) — Arizona transportation officials are warning motorists traveling on Interstate 15 in the northwest corner of Arizona over the Labor Day weekend to expect traffic delays and to allow extra travel time. Construction crews won't be working during the holiday weekend but I-15 narrows to one lane in each direction at a bridge construction project about 20 miles south of St. George, Utah.
