Danville police search for mental health patient who escaped

DANVILLE, Va. (AP) — Danville police are searching for a mental health patient who escaped from a hospital's emergency room.

Police said Monday that Tyler Lee Ingram fled on foot from the emergency room at Danville Regional Medical Center around 1:45 a.m. Saturday.

Police say the Pittsylvania County man is a patient at Southern Virginia Mental Health Institute who was being treated at the medical center. Police did not provide details.

Ingram was awaiting trial on an outstanding probation violation.
