TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A county commissioner in south-central Idaho has requested for a partial recount after losing his seat in the May primary election.
The Times-News (http://bit.ly/29ktA1L ) reports that Twin Falls County Commissioner Leon Mills requested the recount on Thursday after Twin Falls City Councilman Don Hall beat him with 4,532 to 2,824 on May 23.
The recount will only cover three of the county's precincts. If the new results show Mills to be ahead, a countywide recount would be triggered.
Mills did not return requests for comment.
Meanwhile, Hall said he didn't understand why Mills requested the recount.
Under Idaho law, the candidate who requests a recount is in charge of paying for it unless the results are extremely close.
