SANFORD, Fla. (AP) — A man accused of shooting at George Zimmerman during a traffic encounter has had his bond revoked and is heading to jail.
A judge on Friday said Matthew Apperson should be jailed because he was charged with committing a new crime while out on bond.
That charge, made against Apperson last month, was of disorderly conduct. Police say he urinated on a neighbor's door. At the time, he was on bond for his charge involving Zimmerman.
Apperson denied the accusation.
In May, he was charged with attempted second-degree murder after the traffic incident with Zimmerman.
Zimmerman was not injured in the shooting.
Zimmerman was acquitted two years ago in the death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed black 17-year-old. That case sparked protests and a national debate about race relations.
