API: Latest inspector general's report should clear the way for KXL
approval
WASHINGTON, Feb. 26, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In response to
the State Department Inspector General's conclusion that there was no
wrongdoing concerning the department's review of Keystone XL pipeline,
API said no more evidence is needed to get this job creating project
built.
"The latest IG report removes another attempt by KXL opponents to
block the project," said API Downstream Operations Senior Manager,
Refining and Oil Sands Cindy Schild. "After more than five years, all
the excuses not to build Keystone XL have been exhausted. The state of
limbo needs to end.
"President Obama is calling 2014 'a year of action' for creating jobs
and economic opportunities for American families," said Schild.
"Keystone XL would help the president meet that goal. All he needs to
do is say yes, and he can do so today."
API represents all segments of America's oil and natural gas industry.
Its more than 580 members produce, process, and distribute most of the
nation's energy. The industry also supports 9.8 million U.S. jobs and
8 percent of the U.S. economy.
