SALT LAKE CITY — A man was killed in a crash between a car and a motorcycle in Murray Tuesday evening. Kristin Reardon with the Murray Police Department said the crash took place at 50 East and 5300 South. It was reported just after 5 p.m. Reardon said the driver of the car was heading north before making a left hand turn onto 50 East. As they were turning left, they crashed into a motorcycle heading westbound. The driver of the motorcycle, a male in his mid 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene. Reardon said he was not wearing a helmet. The driver of the car was transported to a hospital with minor injuries and is cooperating with police, Reardon said. The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Westbound 5300 South at State St. will be closed for two or more hours as crews work to reconstruct the scene. Editor's note: This story has been modified after police indicated they'd provided incorrect information regarding a helmet worn by the motorcyclist.
