Here's how to level up your gift wrap this year.
A brown paper package tied up with string, that's one way to go. Or, try one of these unique wrapping ideas to make your gifts extra special this Christmas! Hayley Rowan shared five elevated gift wrapping ideas to try this holiday season.
1. Add an Ornament to the Top
Once your gift is wrapped, pick a small ornament that matches the recipient’s style and tie it to the top with ribbon or string. This adds a personal touch and gives them a bonus keepsake for their tree. You can find inexpensive ornaments from craft stores or even repurpose some from your own collection.
2. Acrylic Box Party Favor
Fill a clear acrylic box with treats like caramels, chocolates or other candies. Tie a small decorative piece on top with ribbon. Hayley suggested a small bottle brush tree or mini ornament. These make the perfect party favors and can double as an addition to your holiday tablescape for Christmas Eve or brunch.
3. Wrap with Yarn
Tie colorful yarn around your gifts instead of traditional ribbon. Yarn is pretty inexpensive and comes in every color you can imagine. For a little extra flair, add a small strip of specialty ribbon.
4. Use Decorative Crates
Swap gift bags for reusable crates in fun colors and sizes. Hayley fills them with curated goodies and uses them as neighbor and teacher gifts. These crates are less expensive than your average gift bag, and can be reused by the recipient for storage or décor.
5. Dress Up a Drink Holder
Take a basic drink carrier and turn it into a mini gift basket. Add a small bouquet from the grocery store and fill the compartments with things like sparkling drinks, snacks, gift cards or lotion. You can use this creative bundle for any occasion, not just Christmas.
