ST. GEORGE — Roadwork on St. George Boulevard between Bluff Street and River Road is set to begin Sunday night and continue through the fall, according to the Utah Department of Transportation.

The work includes pedestrian ramp upgrades, paving and traffic system improvements, with the overall work expected to conclude in November.

"This project will include upgrades on (the) electrical system, pedestrian ramps, replacements to the top layer of asphalt, the new pavement signs and striping," Kevin Kitchen, a spokesman for UDOT, told St. George News.

The work kicks off with the reconstruction of 47 out of 49 pedestrian access ramps at key intersections along St. George Boulevard. The ramps will be upgraded to comply with Americans with Disabilities Act standards and include audible pedestrian crossing buttons.
