Few businesses strive to push boundaries quite like Shelby American and Black Widow Trucks. They're companies who have taken established vehicles to new heights, driven innovation across the industry and even won staple events like 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now they have a new vendor — the Young Automotive Group.
"We're incredibly proud to sign this deal," said Jake Talbot, Young Ford Ogden's general manager. "These aren't just vehicles made for a specific niche. They're a bit of a spectacle, and we're excited to have them on our showroom floor."
Shelby American and Black Widow Trucks have signed agreements with the company's three Ford operations. Located in Ogden, Morgan and Brigham City, the dealerships will become some of the preeminent locations to offer these limited, highly coveted vehicles in northern Utah, and they're currently stocking an incredible selection of units on their lots.
Looking for a premier truck or muscle car? Here's what you need to know about vehicles from each business:
Black Widow Trucks
Based out of Trussville, Alabama, Black Widow Trucks have taken modern-day vehicles to the next level for over 40 years. The company offers packages for Ford's F-150, F-150 Limited and F-250 Super Duty vehicles — each featuring incredible suspension systems, aggressively-styled components and intricately-designed interior elements.
Black Widow's Ford trucks all receive a lift, signature wheels, puddle lights and distinctive badging replacements before they arrive on showroom floors. They also swap out the original shocks for alternatives from Fox Racing, a renowned company in the off-road community.
Inside the cab, the company turns a standard F-series model into a luxury vehicle. Drivers are greeted by custom-stitched seats and red interior lighting when they step through the door. Black Widow also offers optional powered side steps to make getting in and out of the truck easier on certain models.
"Ford trucks have a distinct identity, and Black Widow takes what we love about them to another level," Talbot said. "When customers first see these vehicles, they're blown away by the attention to detail and incredible upgrades."
Shelby American
It's possible that no name in the American automobile industry is as revered as Shelby American. Developed by the racing legend and intuitive entrepreneur Carroll Shelby, the manufacturer has produced several iconic performance vehicles, including the Cobra, the GT40 and the GT Mustang.
"Shelby has carried on the incredible spirit of their founder and continued to set industry standards," Talbot said. "The bold style featured in their vehicles compliments their unmatched ability to produce power. They're bedroom poster cars."
Each Shelby is designed to highlight the brand's unique identity. Other than a few versions of the Cobra, like the 289 Street CSX-Series, they all feature an iconic racing stripe. It's also almost hard to find a Shelby that doesn't produce over 700 horsepower — especially in their Mustang line.
This year's Shelby Mustang Super Snake — one of their most popular models ever — is designed to turn heads and reach incredible speeds. Powered by Ford's new Gen 4 Coyote 5.0 engine and a 3.0-liter Whipple supercharger, the muscle car is capable of producing over 830 horsepower and going from 0-60 in under 4 seconds. That said, the Super Snake name doesn't only belong to the Mustang.

While they've been creating high-performance trucks in some capacity since the late 1980s, few vehicles in Shelby's history compare to the modern F-150 Super Snake. Capable of towing up to 13,500 lbs., it can work like a truck and perform like a sports car. The vehicle comes equipped with a supercharged engine that produces up to 775 horsepower as well as front and rear shocks from Fox Racing.
"Muscle cars and trick trucks have played such an incredible role in the evolution of the automotive world, and Shelby's made sure that they don't disappear from the road," said Talbot. "Drivers aren't done with these cars. They're incredibly fun, and designed for enthusiasts. Not every person who comes to our dealership will buy a Shelby, but I guarantee you that most will do a double-take when they walk past one of these in our showroom."
In addition to vehicles from Black Widow and Shelby, the Young Automotive Group's Ford locations will also carry F-series trucks from the manufacturer's Harley-Davidson collaboration as well as Mustang upgrade packages from RTR — a company that customizes machines for better track performance.
The signing of this deal coincides with the Young Automotive Group's 100 year anniversary. Founded in 1924 by a mechanic named Seldon "Jack" Olsen, the company has over 30 franchises across Utah, Idaho and Montana.
"What I love about this deal is how it shows that even though we've been operating for a century, our best days as a company are still ahead of us," said Talbot. "We still have several significant moments ahead of us, and we can't wait for them to come our way."
