SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Royals will play their first NWSL match at America First Field since 2019 on March 16 against the Chicago Red Stars to kick off their 2024 return to Utah.

The entire 2024 NWSL schedule was released Thursday, with the Royals playing 26 matches — 13 at home and 13 on the road — between March 16 and Nov. 1.

Five of the team's first seven matches will be at home in Sandy, with the North Carolina Courage coming to town on March 22 to follow up the home opener.

Other home highlights on the schedule include Angel City on May 3, Portland Thorns on June 29 and Bay FC on Aug. 23, which will be the second meeting between the two expansion sides following a June 16 clash in San Jose, California, broadcast on CBS Sports Network.

The NWSL will take a break during July and August for the Summer Olympics, before returning to play for a 10-game home stretch before the playoffs. The Royals will close the regular season at home on Nov. 1 against a Gotham FC squad featuring former Royal Kelley O'Hara and other USWNT regulars.

The home stretch of the 2024 season will include two Sunday afternoon ESPN 2 appearances on Sept. 22 at Gotham FC and Oct. 13 at home against the Seattle Reign, along with four nationally televised matches on ION. Other matches will air throughout the season on CBS Networks and Prime Video as part of the NWSL's multi-platform media rights agreement, in addition to several local broadcasts via NWSL+ and a soon-to-be-announced local partner over the air.
