ST. GEORGE — What started as a side gig has blossomed into a full-time passion for a Southern Utah actress with a recent film landing in a prestigious London Horror Film Festival.
Jessica Staples is featured in "He Never Left," which will make its international premiere in London during the second block of the world-renowned Frightfest Film Festival on Oct. 27.
Utah-based company Witching Season Films produced the film. "He Never Left" was written and directed by James Morris. The production follows Gabriel, a fugitive from the U.S. Marshals. His girlfriend, Carly, helps him take refuge in an old motel. However, after hearing strange noises from an adjoining room, the two become the targets of the "Pale Face" killer, whose legend has haunted the local community for decades.
"So I'm taking Gabriel someplace off-grid where he can hide," Staples told St. George News. "The movie is centered around what happens at this motel in the middle of nowhere."
