D.C. United went down a man due to a red card in the 26th minute, but it likely would not have changed another surprising road win for Real Salt Lake on Saturday.

Pablo Ruiz and Danny Musovski scored goals from opposite extremes of the field to give RSL a 2-1 win and its second road win of the month.

The goal from Ruiz came from 68 yards — beyond midfield — just before halftime in the 41st minute. He spotted keeper Tyler Miller off his line and sent a left-footed bomb toward the goal, dropping perfectly into the upper right corner.

Musovski picked it up right after the break with a tap-in from just in front of the goal in the 51st minute on a pinpoint cross from Andres Gomez. The home team got one back just two minutes later, but RSL was able to hang on to earn three more points in a tight Western Conference playoff battle.

The win proved another testament to the depth RSL has built up over the last couple of months with multiple two-game weeks across MLS and Open Cup play. Four key players were missing on international duty, but the Claret and Cobalt still managed to go across the country and defeat an Eastern Conference playoff team on its own turf.

The next challenge to RSL's road streak comes in rapid succession, with St. Louis hosting the Claret and Cobalt on June 21 before a homecoming for RSL against Minnesota on June 24.
