PROVO — He may be a year away from seeing the court at the Marriott Center, but BYU basketball got better Wednesday with the commitment of four-star Idaho forward Isaac Davis.
The Cougars' recruiting class of 2024 is off and running with the addition of the 6-foot-6 power forward from Hillcrest High in Ammon, Idaho, joining former Farmington High standout Collin Chandler, who is set to return from a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints next season.
Davis made the announcement publicly at a ceremony at his high school, where he told local media it had always been his dream to play for the Cougars.
"It's a great day to be a Cougar," Davis said, per Local News 8 in Eastern Idaho. "Ever since I was growing up, I've always watched the Cougars. One of my favorite players is Yoeli Childs. I've always liked going there.
"I just wanted to play close to home so all my friends and family could come watch me."

A consensus four-star recruit by ESPN, Rivals and 247Sports and top-100 prospect nationally, Davis averaged 17.6 points, 9.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game as a junior, helping the Knights to Idaho 4A state championship.
He chose BYU over scholarship offers from Oklahoma, Washington State, UNLV and VCU, among others.
