SALT LAKE CITY — Real Salt Lake looked like the better team on Saturday in Dallas, but left the Lone Star State empty-handed after Bernard Kamungo scored in the 88th minute to give FC Dallas a 2-1 win.
Hopes were high, but still cautious, after RSL seemed to reignite its season last week at home with a 3-1 win over Charlotte, but the expectations were quickly tempered after Jesus Ferreira gave Dallas the lead after just five minutes of game time.
RSL had a potential break later in the match when the referee stopped play briefly at the end of the first half to find out if there might have been a potential handball in the box on Dallas, but ended up sending the teams to the break without a penalty awarded for the road team.

RSL, once again, found itself down 1-0 at halftime and in need of another miracle speech by head coach Pablo Mastroeni to have a chance at a comeback on the road.
The team found that spark in the 68th minute after leading in shots for the entire match. Almost immediately after entering the game, Justin Meram sent a searching cross right into the heart of the Dallas box, and Jefferson Savarino made sure it found the back of the net.
The Venezuelan star dove toward the goal and secured the equalizer for the Claret and Cobalt, landing on the score sheet for the second time in two weeks.
THE CROSS. THE HEADER.

RSL finished the game with a 15-5 lead in total shots and a 5-3 lead in shots on goal as it seemed primed to take a point home to Utah — if not three.
Kamungo had different plans, however, and slammed home a Marco Farfan cross past Zac MacMath for the game-winning goal.
RSL returns home for two consecutive matches at America First Field against San Jose and Seattle on April 22 and April 29.
