MONTEVIEW, Idaho — Local Idaho law enforcement have released a new photo of a runaway they have been searching for since Jan. 1.
The new photo of 16-year-old Elintra Fischer shows her in dark clothing, her hair pulled back and a cat in her arms.
"This is very much an active case, and we are again requesting help from the public in locating Elintra," the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Wednesday.
It has been two months since Elintra was reported as a runaway by her mother, Elizabeth Roundy.
Elintra left her Monteview home in her mother's car. However, the vehicle — a gray 2015 Honda Civic — was found at a gas station in McCammon in January.
Officials say she was reported to be wearing a "prairie dress" at the time she left home.
The sheriff's office believes she may be in Utah. Deputies have been working with Utah law enforcement to find her.
EastIdahoNews.com interviewed Elintra's mother in a previous article in January. Roundy had said she believed her daughter ran away to rejoin members of the Fundamentalist LDS Church in southern Utah.
Roundy was a member of the FLDS Church until 2020. The concerned mother is worried church leaders may force her 16-year-old to marry an older man. Click here to read the previous story.
Elintra is 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighs 135 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
