SALT LAKE CITY — The 10-day contracts keep on coming for the Utah Jazz
With five players still in health and safety protocols, the team has signed forward Zylan Cheatham, a former Arizona State product, KSL.com has confirmed. ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowksi was the first to report the signing.
Cheatham, 26, has spent time with five NBA teams, but has appeared in just four games — all with New Orleans during the 2019-20 season.
In college, he was known for his defensive chops and his athleticism. He was a strong finisher around the basket and at 6-foot-5 could guard multiple positions. He averaged 12.1 points, 10.3 rebounds and 3.2 assists in his final season at ASU.
The Jazz now have four 10-day contract players on its roster with Cheatham joining Danuel House Jr., Norvel Pelle, and Denzel Valentine.
Rudy Gobert, Rudy Gay, Jared Butler, Udoka Azubuike, and Elijah Hughes all remain in COVID protocols. Joe Ingles has cleared the protocols, but is in return to play protocols. He is questionable for Wednesday's home game against Cleveland.
