With Utahns cooped up in their homes for much for 2020, many took to camping to get out of their homes and into the open air. As a result, Utah's state parks and campgrounds are, according to KSL.com, seeing a record number of visitors this year.
With campgrounds filled nearly every weekend, there aren't any signs of slowing with Utahn's camping mania.
But, this trend didn't start because of the COVID-19 pandemic. In fact, Business Wire reports the percentage of campers who camp three or more times each year increased 72% from 2014 - 2019, according to the 2019 North American Camping Report, sponsored by Kampgrounds of America.
