CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Carolina Panthers All-Pro receiver Steve Smith was on the inactive list for Sunday's game against Atlanta.

Smith, who has been plagued by injuries since the start of training camp, injured his right hamstring in practice Tuesday and missed the next three days of workouts.

Smith, who has only talked to reporters a handful of times since the first day of training camp, declined to comment when asked if he had a second to discuss his hamstring.

"I have many seconds," he said. "But to talk to you guys right now? No."

A key part of Carolina's offense, Smith led the NFL with 103 catches for 1,563 yards and 12 touchdowns last season and was selected to the Pro Bowl for the second time.

Without Smith, Drew Carter and Keary Colbert were expected to split time at receiver opposite Keyshawn Johnson, who signed with Carolina in the offseason.

Smith missed 17 days of training camp after straining his left hamstring during the team's second practice. He was sidelined another week with an ingrown toenail and missed all four preseason games.
