Salt Lake police identify woman who died in shooting that left 1 other critically injured

SALT LAKE CITY — One woman died and another person was critically injured Tuesday night after a shooting at Windsor Park Apartments, police confirmed.

Police were on scene at 1798 W. 700 North as of about 8:50 p.m. According to Salt Lake police, the two injured were in critical condition at a hospital. One of those people later died, according to Salt Lake City Police Sgt. Keith Horrocks.

She was identified Wednesday morning as Leticia Smith, 56, according to Salt Lake City police.

As of Tuesday night, no one was in custody, according to police. There were no outstanding suspects as of Wednesday morning, police said.

The shooting happened inside of an apartment, and police are still investigating the circumstances.

Police don't yet know the relationship between the two victims.
