SALT LAKE CITY — In 2017, Nigel Williams-Goss was drafted by the Utah Jazz in the late second round.
Two years later, the point guard is finally going to sign with the team.
Nikos Varlas of eurohoops.net reported that Williams-Goss, who was with Olympiacos in Greece last season, will be signing a three-year deal with the Jazz.
Williams-Goss averaged 9.2 points, 4.2 assists and two rebounds during the 2018-19 EuroLeague. He shot 40% from three.
The former Gonzaga star averaged more than 16 points and six assists while shooting better than 46% from 3-point range in his first EuroLeague season with Serbia’s KK Partizan.
Williams-Goss was taken with the No. 55 pick in the 2017 draft and has kept in contact with the Jazz ever since he signed a contract in Europe after suiting up for Utah during the 2017 Summer League. He even got together with Donovan Mitchell during the 2018 EuroLeague Final Four.
Once the signings of Jeff Green, Ed Davis, Emmanuel Mudiay and now Williams-Goss become official, the Jazz roster will be at 13 players — the league minimum. Utah can sign up to 15 players, not including two-way contracts.
