SALT LAKE CITY — The body of Sgt. 1st Class Elliott J. Robbins, an Army sergeant from Ogden, returned to the United States Tuesday.

Robbins, 31, died Sunday in an incident not related to combat in Afghanistan, according to Pentagon officials.

His remains arrived at Dover Air Force Base in Delaware and an Army team carried the casket from the plane to a van and stood saluting as the doors closed.

Robbins was assigned to the 10th Special Forces Group at Fort Carson, Colorado, according to U.S. Department of Defense officials.

Funeral plans were unknown Tuesday, but Utah Gov. Gary Herbert announced Monday that the U.S. and Utah flags will be flown at half-staff on the day the funeral.

Robbins is survived by his wife and infant son.
