SALT LAKE CITY — Utah's newest professional football team has a coach, a name and a schedule.
Now it has a roster.
The Salt Lake Stallions have finalized their final 52-man roster in advance of the inaugural season of the Alliance of American Football, and it includes 17 players with local college ties.
Highlighting the Stallions' roster are 10 former Utah football players, led by running back Matt Asiata, wide receiver Dres Anderson and linebacker Gionni Paul. The list also includes several stars of past defenses, like defensive lineman Tenny Palepoi and linebacker Trevor Reilly.
Former BYU tight end Tanner Balderree leads five players from BYU on the 52-man roster, though the 6-foot-3, 250-pound native of Sherwood, Oregon, has been moved to fullback. He's joined by safety Micah Hannemann, who spent time in the NFL with the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens, and wide receiver Jordan Leslie, most recently of the Denver Broncos.
Utah State cornerback alum Will Davis is one of two former Aggies on the 52-man roster, along with linebacker Anthony Williams.
Other players on the roster include former Liberty quarterback Josh Woodrum, who spent time in the NFL with the Ravens, as well as former Arkansas quarterback Austin Allen and Idaho's Matt Linehan.
