SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Latest on the death of a skier at a Utah ski resort: (all times local):
2:35 p.m.
Police have identified 63-year-old Michael Rueckert as the skier who died after crashing into a tree at Utah's Brighton Resort on New Year's Eve.
The Unified Police department released Rueckert's identity Tuesday.
Police say the man was skiing at Brighton when he swerved to avoid another skier and crashed into a tree.

10:05 a.m.
Police say a 63-year-old man has died after he crashed into a tree while skiing at a Salt Lake City-area resort.
Unified Police Lt. Manfred Lassig told KSL-TV that the man was skiing around a bend on New Year's Eve at Brighton Resort when he crashed into a tree while trying to avoid hitting another skier.
Lassig said the man received first aid but was pronounced dead.
His identity has not yet been released.
