A GALAXY FAR FAR AWAY — The Star Wars universe is growing year by year and 2018 will see the release of "Solo," and we now have a trailer for it.
The new film already received a lot of buzz from the moment it was announced, but interest and worry grew when the directing duo of Phil Lord and Chris Miller completed a majority of the film and were then fired from production. Ron Howard then came on to finish the film and ended up reshooting a great deal of it.
The film is due to release in May and the first trailer released Sunday during Super Bowl LII.
The short teaser doesn't give us much on plot, character, performances or any thing really, but it does show off the familiar Star Wars' visuals and music. I have no doubt the film will be gorgeous with Howard behind the camera, but with no real dialogue, it's hard to tell what the tone is going to be. There is a small joke at the beginning, but other than that, we can't tell if Howard kept in some of the humor that Miller and Lord definitely had or if that was totally scrapped and the film will take on a more serious tone.
It's hard to give too much of an opinion on the film due to the ambiguity of the teaser, but my interest is piqued and I'm looking forward to more trailers and the movie.
Let us know what you think of the trailer in the comments.
"Solo" is due in theaters May 25.
