This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

I recently attended a large gathering at Zermatt Resort and Spa in Midway. I have long been aware of the wonderful facility as I watched it being built and have seen the media exposure of the property. However, I decided the best way to get the full experience of the resort's many amenities was to stay there myself.

I looked up Dr. Robert L. Fuller, the individual who visualized Midway as the perfect site for a world-class resort some years ago. Dr. Fuller invited Joyce and me into his office where he now functions as the chief sales and development officer.

He was a practicing dentist but had a dream to build an alpine mountain resort in his beloved home area. He took great pride in the Swiss heritage and charming alpine setting of the valley. Dr. Fuller felt that Utah needed a deluxe, destination resort to attract major conventions, corporate meetings and other gatherings in a first-rate facility. Zermatt's recent 4 Diamond award and Best of State award for tourism and hospitality in 2008 testify of his dreams coming true!

Nestled in the picturesque Heber Valley, Zermatt Resort and Spa lies at the heart of one of Utah's most spectacular recreational areas. Skiing and several golf courses are just minutes away. Joyce and I thoroughly enjoyed the Spa and Wellness Center. Our accommodations in one of the condominium-style suites were reminiscent of a mountain lodge in the Swiss Alps and had a bedroom, kitchen and living room with a fireplace.

The facility boasts a great indoor-outdoor swimming pool, an 18-hole putting course, tennis, sand volleyball, a jogging path and many other activities. I should also mention the real European Carousel. The wireless Internet access throughout the entire resort was also much appreciated.

People from all over the world are now enjoying Zermatt Resort and Spa. However, those of us who live here can enjoy it without having to buy a plane ticket since the facility is only 40 minutes away from Salt Lake City.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
