Every now and then, there is a TV commercial that you can’t get out of your head. Whether it’s Wendy’s “Where’s the Beef?” or Snickers’ “You’re Not You When You’re Hungry,” these TV spots captured our attention through wits and creativity. These humorous advertisements are not only entertaining, but informational as well. While fatal car crashes are no joke, these five hilarious commercials could save your life this summer. Help us reach our goal of Zero Fatalities by watching these funny commercials based on the five deadly driving behaviors.

1. Seat Belts

There’s a reason why wearing a seat belt is a law: it saves lives! Seat belts are the most effective traffic safety device to prevent death and injury. Wearing a seat belt keeps you in your seat and prevents ejection during a car crash. Unbuckled passengers increase the risk of killing or injuring other belted passengers by 40 percent. If you choose not to wear a seat belt, your odds of dying in a car crash are 50 percent. If you love someone, make sure you say those two special words: “buckle up.”

2. Distraction

Texting and walking can be hard. Texting and driving? Even harder. One in four car crashes today involves cell phone use. Manipulating your phone while driving takes your eyes off of the road for an average of 4.6 seconds. That’s comparable to driving with a blood alcohol level twice the legal limit. You wouldn’t ever think about getting behind the wheel impaired, so why would you text and drive? Put down the phone; it can wait.

3. Drowsy

Unfortunately, we’ve all met drowsiness. In fact, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimates that drowsy driving results in 56,000 crashes per year. However, there are many ways to avoid falling asleep at the wheel. If you’re feeling drowsy, switch drivers or pull over for a short nap. Delaying your trip in order to get more rest is better than risking the alternative.

4. Aggressive

Living in Utah, you’ve never seen anyone cut it close on a yellow light. You’ve definitely never seen anyone run a red light, right? While you may be a good driver, you need to be aware of others on the road. Speeding, running red lights and stop signs, failure to yield, tailgating and weaving are considered deadly aggressive behaviors. If you exhibit any of these aggressive driving signs, cut it out. Slow down and stay alert to ensure you arrive alive.

5. Impaired

Every day almost 30 lives are lost due to an alcohol-impaired driver. Impaired driving is a serious crime in Utah and there is no excuse for getting behind the wheel when buzzed. If you’re taking prescription or over-the-counter medications, read your warning labels to see if it’s okay to drive. Just because it’s legal, doesn’t mean that it’s safe. If you have any questions, call your doctor or pharmacist—they’re happy to help.
