BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho officials are currently working to restore a government website that was hacked with a message that claims to support the Islamic State terrorist group. A page on Idaho State Treasurer Ron Crane's website was hacked Sunday that included the message: "I love the Islamic state."
TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Twin Falls police are investigating the death of a 10-month-old baby left unattended in a parked vehicle for several hours during the afternoon. Lt. Terry Thueson says that officers responded to a report of a baby not breathing just before midnight Friday.
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — A federal judge has sentenced a man who performed guard duty at last year's occupation of a national wildlife refuge in Oregon. Geoff Stanek must spend 6 months in home detention and another 2 years on probation. Stanek pleaded guilty to conspiracy months before the 2016 trial in which occupation leader Ammon Bundy and 6 others were found not guilty. Stanek's early acceptance of responsibility was one reason prosecutors recommended a sentence that did not include prison time
JEROME, Idaho (AP) — An Idaho county is looking to generate additional money by renting out space for Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees. The Times-News reported Monday that under a proposed contract with Jerome County Sheriff's Department, ICE would pay about $75 per day for each bed they lease from the county's jail. Sheriff Doug McFalls says he's been working with ICE since February and is close to finalizing the deal.
