SALT LAKE CITY (Wednesday, October 1, 2008) - Real Salt Lake President Bill Manning, in cooperation with the Utah Department of Transportation, Sandy City, and the Sandy City Police Department, today unveiled a detailed parking plan for events to be held at the new Rio Tinto Stadium in Sandy. As part of the overall parking plan, 6,700 parking spots spread across 17 lots located within a 15-minute walk of Rio Tinto Stadium will be made available for events, the first of which will take place in just eight days' time when Real Salt Lake plays host to the New York Red Bulls in a nationally-televised contest next Thursday, October 9 (8:00 p.m. MT, LIVE on ESPN2).

As a convenience for those visitors using the parking lots located farthest away from Rio Tinto Stadium, the transportation plan will include three shuttle systems that will be available to take guests to and from those lots. In addition, for those fans interested in using public transportation to get to Rio Tinto Stadium, numerous UTA TRAX routes service three stations that are also within a 15-minute walk. These include the Historic Sandy Station (at 9000 South and 200 East), the Sandy Expo Station (at 9400 South, behind Jordan Commons) and the Sandy Civic Center Station (at 10000 South, behind Jordan High School). Please visit www.rideUTA.com for routes, schedules, and additional information.

Attached is a .PDF version of the detailed parking and transportation map for Rio Tinto Stadium events, including the exact location of the 17 parking lots and their availability, the number of spots available in each lot, and the shuttle bus pick-up/drop-off locations.
