SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Restaurant groups and officials from Utah's skiing industry are urging Gov. Gary Herbert to veto a bill that would give Utah the strictest drunken driving threshold in the nation. It would lower the blood alcohol limit to .05 from .08. The Salt Lake Area Restaurant Association, Ski Utah and the American Beverage Institute say the proposal could punish responsible drinkers and damage hospitality and tourism.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — President Donald Trump's administration is allowing Utah's top federal prosecutor to stay on the job for four more months as the interim U.S. Attorney in the state. U.S. Attorney for Utah John W. Huber submitted his letter of resignation on Friday, along with dozens of his counterparts around the country who were asked to resign by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A video appears to show a Mormon missionary fighting off two robbers while serving in Brazil. The video taken Saturday shows two men drive up to the American missionary on a motorcycle. After one man pulls out a gun, the missionary wrestles it away from him, throws the gun over a fence and then fights off the second attacker.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — A civilian employee who ran the U.S. Army supply and logistics center at Dugway Proving Ground in Utah has pleaded not guilty to a federal theft of government property charge. The Salt Lake Tribune reports ( that U.S. District Magistrate Judge Paul Warner on Wednesday set a May 22 trial date for Phillip Tomac, who could face up to 10 years in prison a fine of up to $250,000.
