"A slight tip to Obama on the issue of the economy."

Is either candidate taking the lead on the number one issue in the country - the economy? ABC's Political Consultant Steve Roberts gives a slight edge to Obama because of the general feeling against the party in power. The caveat there is that if Americans are feeling when they go into the voting booth like these are uncertain times, uncertain times call for a man at the wheel who has more experience, that would give the advantage to John McCain. The first presidential debate isn't until Friday. But the election is already over for some voters. A number of people in Kentucky, South Carolina and Virginia have cast their ballots some six weeks ahead of the rest of the nation. More than 30 states allow early voting, either in person or by mail. Researchers predict up to a third of those registered will vote prior to November 4th this year. But we'll have to wait until Election Day to see who gets those votes. While the ballots are cast early, they're not counted until the rest of the nation goes to the polls.

Wall Street was a little jittery in early trading this morning. The DOW fell 100 points right off the bat. ABC's Aaron Katersky reported from Wall Street where traders were wondering how the $700 billion bailout was going to play out in the markets.
