A New You Fitness and Health

For years we've been told that keeping physically fit is a great way to stay healthy. In recent years, there's also been increased interest in holistic methods to achieve overall wellness. How would it be to find a place that can provide both at the same time?

I discovered that Riverton is already home to such a facility when I spoke with Tammy Garfield, co-owner of A New You Fitness and Health. The center provides a women-only circuit workout, and a fitness center with toning tables, elliptical machines and treadmills. Yoga and belly dancing classes are available for adults and children as well as group fitness classes for adults.

The center also offers a wide variety of holistic treatments, including Foot Detox, Alkaline Water and TurboSonic vibration therapy. During the Foot Detox, patrons can sit back and relax while enjoying a specialized treatment designed to draw heavy toxins and metals out through the numerous pores in their feet. Alkaline Water helps balance the body's pH levels, and TurboSonic treatments are designed to accelerate the body's natural healing processes.

Tammy stumbled into her involvement with A New You Fitness and Health. She was hired for a part-time job but discovered she loved making a difference in people's lives through the holistic treatments the center provides. Meanwhile, Jeanell Collings was looking for an opportunity to purchase a fitness center because as an avid runner, fitness has always been important to her. When the center's owner decided to sell, Jeanell purchased it, inviting Tammy to be her partner and oversee the holistic portion of the business. The two have been running the center together ever since.

A New You Health and Fitness is in the process of expanding, which will enable Tammy and Jeanell to offer more treatments. They are considering the possibility of turning the business into a franchise, but in the meantime, they want to continue being known for their personalized and friendly service and the range of treatments available.
