RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) — Authorities have determined that an 86-year-old man shot and killed his wife before turning the gun on himself at their Lander home.

The Ranger reports (http://bit.ly/2cZcwxx ) that the Fremont County Coroner's Office ruled the death of 85-year-old Muriel Chidsey a homicide. Her husband, Charles Chidsey, was found to have died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The Chidseys are believed to have died one day before they were found in their home Sept. 8.

Deputy Coroner Erin Ivie says evidence at the crime scene suggested the homicide-suicide had been planned out before it took place.
