U.S. District Judge Michael Barrett is scheduled to hear arguments in Cincinnati on the merits of the Ohio law that diverts public money from the group and whether to continue to block it. The law bars public funds from going to entities that perform or promote abortions.

HOLMDEL, N.J. (AP) — New questions about research, or the lack of it, are taking the gloss from floss. The recommendation to use dental floss to prevent gum disease and cavities is one of the most universal in all of public health. But the government's latest dietary guidelines quietly removed the recommendation and an AP examination finds the research evidence for flossing offers little proof that it works.
