CEDAR CITY, Utah (AP) — The last of three defendants convicted in the 2014 shooting death of a Cedar City man has been sentenced. A judge sentenced Angelo Seth Carrasco on Friday to 25 years to life with the chance of parole for his role in the slaying of 45-year-old Shawn Multine.

PROVO, Utah (AP) — A Provo property that caught fire early Friday is a total loss, but the homeowner and his dog are safe thanks to people who woke the man up. The Daily Herald reports Provo and Orem crews fought the blaze for almost three hours.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Salt Lake City authorities are searching for a former day care worker accused of sexually abusing a boy. KUTV reports that a felony charge of sexual abuse of a child was filed Thursday against 19-year-old Carlos Rodriguez. Det. Cody Lougy says police believe Rodriguez has gone on the run and the public's help is needed to locate him.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — More than 100 people in Salt Lake City voiced their support at a rally Saturday for the family of an American jailed in Venezuela. The crowd gathered on the front steps of the Utah State Capitol and said a prayer for Josh Holt. Holt, 24, was arrested on suspicion of weapons charges after he traveled to Venezuela on a tourist visa to marry a fellow Mormon he met on the internet.
