France in mourning ... 84 dead ... Clinton email poll

NICE, France (AP) — The government of France is declaring three days of national mourning, starting on Saturday, after last night's attack in Nice (neece) that left at least 84 people dead. A large truck plowed through revelers gathered for Bastille Day fireworks. The driver was killed by police. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.

PARIS (AP) — A somber French President Francois Hollande went on television to say: "All of France is under the threat of Islamic terrorists." Hollande extended by three months a state of emergency imposed after last November's attacks in Paris that left 130 victims dead.

WASHINGTON (AP) — An Associated Press-GfK poll suggests the investigation into Hillary Clinton's email practices has taken a toll on her presidential campaign. More than half of those surveyed think Clinton broke the law by using a private email account and server at the State Department. Nearly 4 in 10 think she did so intentionally.

WASHINGTON (AP) — It'll be a while longer before we find out who Donald Trump's running mate will be. The presumptive Republican nominee abruptly postponed plans to announce his vice presidential pick after the attack in Nice. There's been a lot of speculation, with Indiana Gov. Mike Pence perceived as a late favorite.

BALTIMORE (AP) — Baltimore police say officers responding to gunshots near an apartment building fatally shot a man who fired at them with an "AR-15-style" weapon. No officers were wounded. A police spokesman says it's unclear why the man began shooting last night.
