LEBANON, N.H. (AP) — The former principal of a New Hampshire elementary school has pleaded not guilty to a prostitution charge.
The Valley News reports that 48-year-old Matthew Laramie entered the plea to the misdemeanor count earlier this month in Lebanon.
The former principal of Bernice A. Ray School in Hanover was slated to be arraigned in July, but his attorney filed to waive the hearing.
Canaan (kuh-NAYN') police say Laramie and two other men were arrested after they contacted undercover officers and offered to pay money for various sex acts. Laramie was charged in April.
Laramie suddenly resigned from his principal position in February citing personal reasons. School administrators announced in March that they were investigating more than $30,000 in unapproved expenses charged to Laramie's school-issued credit card.
