LONGVIEW, Wash. (AP) — Officials say additional testing at Kelso schools has uncovered elevated levels of lead in five more water sources.

The Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/28P78bT ) that contaminated water sources were found in a classroom at Barnes Elementary, two classrooms at Butler Acres Elementary, one classroom at Coweeman Middle school and in one Huntington Middle School classroom. The announcement comes after officials said they found seven contaminated water sources at schools last week.

Kelso School District Superintendent Glenn Gelbrich says the latest testing was conducted as part of a random sampling. The district plans to test all fixtures at each school with at least one contaminated water source.

Officials are working to determine whether the lead contaminants are contained to the individual fixtures.

Testing is expected to last three to five weeks.
