HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Lone Peak grad Conner Toolson scored a game-high 20 points, including five 3-pointers, and American Fork grad Tyler Rawson supplied 17 points and 11 rebounds to lift Salt Lake Community College to an 83-47 win over Gillette College in a semifinal of the NJCAA national tournament Friday at Hutchinson Community College.
The Utah Valley signee Toolson made 5-of-10 3-pointers to lead the Bruins, who finished 10-of-29 from beyond the arc. Gibson Johnson, who finished with 14 points, eight rebounds and three assists, had a pair of triples for SLCC (30-8).
Former Kearns High star Bushman Ebet supplied six points, four rebounds and three assists off the bench for the Bruins, and teammate Christian Musoko had six points and eight rebounds.
Marqueese Grayson had 13 points and three rebounds to lead Gillette (34-3), which scored just 20 first-half points and was held to 24 percent shooting by the Bruins.
SLCC will face host Hutchinson in the JUCO national title game Saturday at 7 p.m. MT. The game will be streamed live at njcaa.org.
