MURRAY, Utah (AP) — A Murray man and his niece have been charged in the 2004 killing of a man whose body was found stuffed in a garbage can.

The Deseret News reported (http://bit.ly/23kHZgr ) Friday that 52-year-old Clint Veon Snyder and 31-year-old Brittany Lin Snyder were charged with first-degree murder.

According to charging documents, 24-year-old Michael Lewis was last seen March 6, 2004 when he went to meet Brittany Snyder at the house where his body was found four days later.

Investigators believe Brittany Snyder stabbed him several times while Clint Snyder allegedly restrained the victim.

The documents allege that a third person helped put Lewis' body in a trash can.

Both uncle and niece are being held on $1 million bail.

It was not known Saturday if either had an attorney.
