Spacewalk aborted after water leaks into astronaut's helmet

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. (AP) — Two spacewalking astronauts — including Britain's first — have successfully restored full power to the International Space Station after replacing a broken electronic box.

But they had to cut short their spacewalk after NASA astronaut Timothy Kopra reported a small water bubble inside his helmet, and a few minutes later, a film of water.

Keeping in mind another spacewalker's close call in 2013, Mission Control terminated the planned six-hour spacewalk at the four-hour mark. It turns out Kopra was wearing the same spacesuit involved in the earlier incident.

Back then, Italian astronaut Luca Parmitano's helmet and suit filed between one and one and a-half liters of water. The suit was refurbished afterward, and NASA says Kopra used the same suit for a spacewalk last month without any problem.
