HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) — Jeremy Hollowell scored 17 points and Georgia State used a big first half and cruised to a 66-46 victory over Southern Mississippi on Saturday night.
Georgia State (6-2) scored the first 11 points, jumped out to a 23-3 lead midway through the first half, and led 35-14 at the break. Hollowell scored nine points in the first half.
Southern Miss (2-7) missed its first eight field goal attempts before Khari Price made a layup with 7:46 to play in the first half.
Isaiah Williams and Markus Crider scored 12 apiece for the Panthers.
Price scored 20 points and had 10 rebounds to lead Southern Miss (2-7), which scored a season-low 46 points.
Eddie Davis III's jumper pulled the Golden Eagles to 51-38 with 5:20 to play. Crider and Kevin Ware scored four points apiece and the Panthers led 59-39 with three minutes left.
